EuroCarBody

25th Global Car Body Benchmarking Conference

Three exciting EuroCarBody conference days come to an end

We were looking forward to seeing you again when EuroCarBody, the globally leading international series car body benchmarking conference, once again opened its doors in Bad Nauheim, Germany, from October 17-19 to provide an hands-on, exclusive showcase of current, recently launched car body projects from around the world.

Here, the global elite of car body engineers met to benchmark current body development, performance and production with detailed technical presentations by OEM engineering teams directly involved in the development of the featured car bodies. They explained their construction, material and production concepts and then answered your questions at and around each body exhibit. The body exhibits could be viewed extensively by all conference participants on the three days of the conference, as could the full vehicles on display in each case.

As part of the conference, all participants were provided with the standardized EuroCarBody benchmark data, with detailed information on weights, materials, components, joining techniques as well as production data of all exhibited car bodies.

Conference Agenda

We are happy to release the program of this year’s 25th edition of the EuroCarBody.

Conference program is subject to change
Status as of: August 16, 2023

* Volume segment
** Premium segment

Important notice from the organisers
We would like to inform you of recent changes to the EuroCarBody program:
Unfortunately, two different OEMs have informed us that they will have to cancel their EuroCarBody BiW presentations for this year. These are the Hiphi Z from Chinese car manufacturer Human Horizons and the Cadillac Lyriq from General Motors. Therefore, we had to slightly adjust the program. Thank you for your understanding.

What to expect

Recently launched car body projects will be featured at EuroCarBody 2023. Each of these car bodies will be explained in detail via

  • a 50-minute technical presentation given by the corresponding OEM developers, covering all important aspects of the car body’s development, construction and production. Presenters may choose to include some technological “Deep Dives” into specific aspects of the car body project, which will be addressed in greater detail.
  • a 40-minute public and individual Q&A session of the speakers with the audience, assembled around the corresponding body-in-white exhibit, forming the “Automotive Circle”!

Car bodies presented will be exhibited and available for individual inspection by all conference participants during all three conference days.

Meet the OEM speaker teams at their body-in-white exhibit, even before their presentation: For the Sneak Preview, the speaker teams presenting on a given conference day will be available at their car body one hour before the start of the conference day to answer your first questions and provide first explanations.

Inspect the full vehicles that correspond to the car bodies presented: During every lunch break, the full vehicles will be opened and can be inspected by everyone. Speakers and Advisory Board members will be available for demonstrations and further questions. Use this opportunity to study the implementation of the car body in the full vehicle and to widen your contacts.

With its unique audience of car body engineering experts from all over the world, EuroCarBody offers ample opportunity for networking and an intensive exchange of views and information – especially during the informal networking dinners on the evenings of the first two conference days.

An inherent part of the EuroCarBody conference is the bestowal of the EuroCarBody Awards, the highest accolade in car body engineering worldwide. The car bodies presented at the conference will enter one of two separate competitions, namely:

EUROCARBODY AWARD | PREMIUM SEGMENT, comprising car bodies that have been developed for a predominantly technology-oriented, premium vehicle segment, or for the
EUROCARBODY AWARD | VOLUME SEGMENT, comprising car bodies that have been developed for a predominantly cost-oriented, volume-production vehicle segment

The Award winners are determined by the combined vote of the conference audience and the conference’s OEM Advisory Board, as follow:

  • All conference participants (60% of the total voting results)
  • EuroCarBody’s OEM Advisory Board members (40%)

The Award winners are based on the evaluation of five equal-weight technical criteria:

  1. Car body development and construction
  2. Material development and application
  3. Production efficiency
  4. Car-body-implied customer value
  5. Quality and completeness of the presentation

The 2023 EuroCarBody Awards will be announced at the end of the conference.
